What is Gastroenterology?
Gastroenterology is a branch of medicine that deals with gastrointestinal disorders of the stomach and intestines, faced by adults as well as children. What is the first step?
At our Gastroenterology centre, gastroenterology symptoms are reviewed first, with a physical examination alongside the care seeker’s medical history. Depending on the symptoms, it will be followed by specific tests such as:
Blood tests – Basic blood tests are used to check for the concentration of haemoglobin, platelets, or white blood cells in the blood. It is also used to detect any unusual levels of sodium, potassium, chloride, bicarbonate, urea, creatinine, calcium, magnesium, or phosphate in the blood.
